India’s defense industry opens doors for foreign investors

On Nov. 3, the IU News and Media Team became aware of a Profnet request from a Washington Post reporter who was writing about India’s present climate for defense manufacturing, its hospitality to foreign investment and its current policy environment in terms of tax and trade laws. Arrangements were made for her to speak with Sumit Ganguly, the Rabindranath Tagore Chair in Indian Cultures and Civilizations and director of the Center on American and Global Security at IU Bloomington. On Nov. 30, he was among those featured in the Post’s article, “India’s defense industry opens doors for foreign investors.”
