Like Sleeping Beauty, some research lies dormant for decades, IU study finds


Alessandro Flammini, associate professor of informatics and computing, was corresponding author on the study released in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. The IU study revealed that some papers lie dormant for decades before experiencing a sudden spike in citations as they are recognized as significant research.
