Jawshing Arthur Liou is director of the Henry Radford Hope School of Fine Arts.

Indiana University Professor Jawshing Arthur Liou is one of 102 artists chosen for the ambitious “State of the Art” exhibition at the Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville, Ark. Liou is the only artist from Indiana represented in the sweeping survey of contemporary art,  which runs Sept. 13 to Jan. 19.

Last year, Crystal Bridges president Don Bacigalupi and a curator crossed the country to meet nearly 1,000 artists. As a result of the visit, the museum selected Liou’s ultra-high-resolution video “Kora,” which he filmed during a monthlong expedition to Tibet in 2011.
