Indiana legislature bill would allow guns in parked vehicles at schools


An Indy Star reporter contacted IU News and Media for help finding a source to talk about state legislation that would let teachers, staff and older students have guns on school property, as long as they’re locked in the owners’ cars. Who better to comment than SPEA professor of practice Paul Helmke. Schools are “an area where we want less guns, not more guns,” Helmke told the  Star. “It’s not a Second Amendment issue. It’s an issue of how do we keep our students safest.
